The Best Tropical Island Wedding Inspiration

Tropical island weddings are something very special.

Usually set in breathtaking places across the world, these glamorous affairs on beautiful islands just scream wedding paradise bliss.

Be inspired by these beautiful images and awesome ideas - even if you're not getting married.

A beautiful reception setting.

I love this idea, a cocktail of your choice in a real coconut vessel -
can't get much more tropical than that.

A simple ceremony in a beautiful waterfront location,
 private, intimate and exclusive.

I love this idea, not just for weddings, a destination map in your shoes
is the perfect travel accessory.

How simple, but gorgeous. Young green coconuts, palm leaves
and white flowers form the aisle.

A tropical aisle in the sand.

This is a beautiful island reception setting.

I really like this palm leaf arbour.

What a gorgeous bouquet, love the colour and the flower choice.

Another beautiful bouquet.

I love the fresh greens with the crisp white and natural raffia
elements of this reception table setting.

I love these so much, I've actually bought some - so cute and unusual.
Beautiful Beach Weddings

Of course.

A night time wedding, interesting idea, looks stunning.

A fresh tropical island wedding ceremony setting.

How cute, wedding bands in the sand.

How lovely, simple yet elegant Ginger flowers
in water with candles - love the dash of pink.

A lovely coral cake topper, much classier than
the Mr & Mrs traditional toppers.

An old palm frond makes a wonderful natural boat
for a table centre piece.

A tropical inspired ring bearers cushion.

Beautiful Beach Weddings

It's nearly Spring here in the Southern Hemisphere (yippee) and thoughts turn to gorgeous weddings.

In this 2 part series I'll share fresh ideas with you for beach and tropical weddings.

Today, the focus is on beautiful beach wedding inspiration and ideas. Beach weddings are so romantic, ethereal, feminine and fun - just love them.

How absolutely gorgeous is this montage?
The soft floaty pastel colours are so romantic and very attuned with the
coastal elements and setting.

This montage is similar to the last image with maybe a few
more castaway beach images.

These little conch shells make a very pretty border down the aisle.
I really like the woven beach mat idea too.

How cute are these nautical inspired bridesmaids?
The parasols are just so lovely as well as practical.

The finishing touches to add coastal style in detail.

A collection of flip flops for guests at the beach, love the aqua,
would equally look good in a natural basket too tied together
with raffia.

I like this, it encourages guests to really get into the
spirit of a beach wedding with sand between the toes.

Beach weddings are fun, no wonder they're so popular.

I love this, its such a cool idea. Coastal keepsakes in an old vintage
pocket watch.

How funny, an interesting take on the 'Just Married' sign.

Stay tuned for the next installment when we look
 at gorgeous Tropical weddings.

Bamboo Cool

Bamboo has finally shaken off it's daggy Seventies image and is now officially the rapidly renewable design material of choice.

Yes, bamboo is cool.

With strength on par with steel, bamboo can be a great structural material.

Stylised bamboo stainless steel cutlery.

We've seen brightly painted faux bamboo furniture pieces for a while now
and it can be pretty pricey in the shops.

If you like this look, charity stores often have bamboo furniture, mirrors etc.
all they need is a clean and a can of spray paint to achieve a very
similar look, so get creative.

Trippy looking light.
Bamboo has been split to achieve a 'hair' look to
diffuse the light.

How cute, not only is this iPhone made of bamboo, it also
comes with little octopus, aahhhhh.

So simple, the bamboo ladder is a design classic.

More painted faux bamboo, love the yellow.

Bamboo mirrors look so cool painted. I especially like the mirrors painted white
on a deep feature coloured background, very stylish.

This is so awesome, a bamboo Vespa.

I like these chairs, they're quite striking.

Bamboo hair?

Bamboo frame, like the idea of the blackboard.
