Perfect Palms

Nothing quite says tropical to me than a palm leaf. This short hand emblem of paradise has graced many an interior in a bid to heighten its breezy, summery and tropical feel.

I love large scale palm trees in interiors, they add a touch of tropical grandness.

Here a simple single fan palm frond lifts this interior scene.

Cycads make fantastic mini palm trees, try one in an indoor pot, as shown in this picture.

What I have started to notice is how stylish the palm leaf is becoming when used as a design element.

For thousands of years the Polynesians have been using palm leaves with such ingenuity making allsorts of items from them.

Today, in our eco conscious world we too are looking at palm leaves as a biodegradable material. I would much rather have these types of party plates than the plastic ones any day.
